What can you do at Tom's farm?
There are a wide range of opportunities for young people at Tom's Farm. The kind of things we do include;
Working with horses
Working on the farm
Green Woodworking
Art projects
Growing and eating organic vegetables
Looking after animals on the farm, such as cows and sheep
Riding horses
Building projects- build a chicken coop, or a bat box
Using horses to work, such as carrying our packs to go out on the moor; or ploughing the land.
Conservation work
Exploring the local moor, by foot and by horse.

When can I come?
We run different programmes and events all through the year, and try to be as flexible as we can. We can tailor make programmes to meet the needs of individuals and groups. This include;
One day events- come along and have a go at a some of the things that take place on the farm.
6 week - 3 month development programmes. Experience shows that to make a real difference to the way a young person feels about themselves, they need consistent, positive input over an extended period. We believe that young people who work with us on a weekly basis, over a number of weeks or months, can and do see real changes in themselves; and gain valuable skills they can call upon in their wider life.
Weekend or week long residentials. In partnership with other local organisations we can provide accomodation, so groups can stay near by and have a really intensive experience here on the farm and in the surrounding area.
Young Leaders Programme - if you are a young person who would like to volunteer on the project and get involved in supporting other young people, get experience of leading activities, and gain accreditation - we have a number of opportunities for you.
We have based our current options on the feedback of young people - however, we are always open to suggestions, so please do talk to us if there is something you would like us to develop for you!
We currently have a 12 week programme running, which takes place every Tuesday. There may be spaces available, please contact us to find out.
